Questions About Our Program
We get asked a lot of things. Some questions come up every month, others surprise us with how specific they are. Here's what people usually want to know before they sign up for our Unreal Engine mobile game development courses.
Getting Started
Do I need prior programming experience?
Not really. We've had complete beginners do well, though it helps if you've tinkered with code before. The first few weeks cover basic C++ concepts and Blueprint visual scripting, so you're not thrown into the deep end right away.
What hardware do I need?
A decent Windows PC or Mac with at least 16GB RAM and a dedicated graphics card. Check our technical requirements page for specifics. Most gaming laptops from the past three years work fine.
When does the next program start?
Our February 2026 cohort opens for enrollment in early January. We also have an April 2026 start date if that works better for your schedule. Classes run for eight months with some flexibility built in.
Is this entirely online or are there in-person sessions?
Fully online. Live sessions happen twice a week in the evenings, and we record everything so you can catch up if you miss one. Some students in Câmpina have met up on their own, but that's not required.
Course Structure
How much time should I set aside each week?
Plan for around 15 hours per week — that includes live sessions, project work, and self-study. Some weeks are lighter, others more intense when you're debugging your game logic at midnight.
What will I actually build during the program?
Three main projects: a simple 2D mobile game, a 3D environment with basic mechanics, and your capstone project which is whatever game idea you want to pursue. Past students have made puzzle games, endless runners, and even a small RPG prototype.
Do you cover mobile-specific optimization?
Yes, extensively. We spend weeks on performance optimization, mobile rendering pipelines, and battery efficiency. You'll learn how to make your game run smoothly on both high-end and budget Android devices.
Will I learn about publishing to app stores?
The final module covers the submission process for both Google Play and Apple App Store, including best practices for screenshots, descriptions, and dealing with review processes. It's not glamorous but necessary.
After Completion
What happens after I finish the program?
You'll have portfolio projects, a solid understanding of Unreal Engine for mobile, and access to our alumni network. We can't promise you'll land a job immediately — the Romanian game dev market is competitive — but you'll have the skills to pursue opportunities.
Do you offer job placement assistance?
We don't guarantee placements, but we do help with resume reviews, portfolio feedback, and occasionally share job openings from studios we know. A few graduates have found positions with mobile game studios in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
Can I continue learning after the program ends?
You keep access to all course materials and recordings. We also run optional advanced workshops every few months on topics like multiplayer systems or advanced shaders — alumni can join these at a reduced rate.
Is there a community I can stay connected with?
Our Discord server stays active with current students and alumni. People share their projects, ask for feedback, and sometimes collaborate on indie game ideas. It's helpful to have that ongoing support.
Still Wondering About Something?
Look, we probably haven't covered everything here. Game development education involves a lot of moving parts, and your situation might be different from what we typically see.
Some questions need a real conversation — maybe you're switching careers from a completely different field, or you have specific constraints around your schedule. That's fine.
